Technology can serve as an effective solution for preserving regional languages such as Javanese in East Java, Indonesia. Digital literature emerges as a powerful tool to engage the younger generation in actively using the Javanese language in their daily communication, thereby contributing to its preservation. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach involving 40 teenagers aged 14 to 19. The main objective is to develop Javanese digital literature that captivates and motivates the youth to use the Javanese language daily, thus supporting the preservation of the language.

The development of Javanese digital literature follows an analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation approach. Researchers analyze Javanese community phenomena as the basis for product development. They then design the structure of digital literature and develop it using various software tools. Implementation involves testing the product with participants and obtaining feedback for refinement. Finally, researchers evaluate the product to ensure its relevance to participants and gather input through various evaluation methods.

The results of the study show that digital Javanese literature successfully increases participants’ interest in using the Javanese language daily. Engagement in textual and non-textual literature also enhances their interest in learning Javanese, serving as additional learning resources and supporting efforts to preserve the Javanese language.

In conclusion, digital Javanese literature holds great potential for sustaining the continuity of the Javanese language in this digital era. Technology can be an effective tool in encouraging the younger generation to love and use their regional language. For more information, visit this page.
